GERARD McSORLEY (Fergus Connolly)

Gerard McSorley has been a celebrated stage actor in Dublin for over thirty years. For the Abbey Theatre, he created the role of Michael in Brian Friel's Dancing at Lughnasa, playing the part both in London's West End and on Broadway. He narrated the film version (directed by Pat O'Connor).

Also among his film credits are Fernando Meirelles' upcoming The Constant Gardener (also for Focus Features), Pete Travis' Omagh, Joel Schumacher's Veronica Guerin, Paul Greengrass' Bloody Sunday, Alan Parker's Angela's Ashes, Atom Egoyan's Felicia's Journey, Jim Sheridan's The Boxer and In the Name of the Father, Terry George's Some Mother's Son, Mel Gibson's Academy Award-winning Braveheart, and three films for Neil Jordan: The Butcher Boy, Michael Collins, and Angel.

Mr. McSorley's television work includes playing Father Todd Unctious in the popular Channel 4 series Father Ted.
